Hiddenwell — The Digital Infrastructure Behind a New Hospitality Brand

At the heart of Hiddenwell’s digital transformation is a first of its kind bespoke Agilysys booking engine integration. Developed by Data First, the solution connects the guest booking experience directly with the PMS, alongside a new CMS and payment infrastructure designed to support Hiddenwell’s growing multi-property portfolio.

The Client

Hiddenwell is the new parent brand bringing together a growing collection of destination spa hotels under one identity. Built around the idea that the best moments are often the ones hidden away, the brand reflects a more contemporary approach to wellness hospitality, centred on discovery, escapism and time to slow down.

At the heart of the collection are Hoar Cross Hall by Hiddenwell in Staffordshire and Eden Hall by Hiddenwell in Nottinghamshire. The group is continuing to expand with the addition of Ardencote Manor in Warwickshire and Orsett Hall in Essex, further developing its portfolio of destination spa and wellness properties.

The new identity creates a shared brand platform for this growing collection, while allowing each destination to retain its own character and experience.

01

The brief

Hiddenwell needed a digital platform capable of supporting a group-level brand across multiple individual properties.

The new identity needed to work alongside the established names, experiences and content of destinations such as Hoar Cross Hall and Eden Hall, while creating a foundation that could scale as the Hiddenwell portfolio grows.

The project brought together several moving parts:

  • A new CMS capable of managing content centrally across multiple properties

  • Centralised content feeding an integrated booking journey

  • A fully bespoke booking engine integrated with Agilysys PMS

  • A website rebrand reflecting the new Hiddenwell name, positioning and ethos

  • A new payment gateway, including Apple Pay and Google Pay

This required close collaboration between Hiddenwell, Data First and Agilysys — with each bringing a different part of the technology and operational picture together.

That collaborative approach was particularly important because the booking experience sits at the intersection of brand, content, availability, pricing, guest data and payment. Agilysys itself describes its PMS architecture as an open API ecosystem designed to connect with other hospitality technology and support real-time data synchronisation. Agilysys

What was built

A CMS designed around the group

Data First developed a bespoke CMS structure designed to allow Hiddenwell to manage content at both group and property level.

Rather than treating each hotel as an isolated website, the platform creates a central content foundation that can support shared Hiddenwell content while allowing individual destinations to retain their own character, offers and experiences.

This gives the group a more scalable digital structure as additional properties are introduced.

A bespoke booking experience

At the centre of the project was a fully bespoke booking engine, developed around Hiddenwell's requirements and integrated with Agilysys.

The aim was to make the booking journey feel like a natural extension of the new Hiddenwell digital experience, rather than sending guests into a disconnected third-party booking environment.

The integration connects the guest-facing experience with the underlying PMS infrastructure, allowing the booking journey to work with live hospitality data.

This approach aligns with the direction of modern hospitality technology, where booking engines increasingly need to connect directly with PMS platforms rather than operate as isolated systems. Agilysys describes its own booking technology around real-time PMS connectivity, availability, pricing and guest data. Agilysys

Payment built into the journey

The project also introduced a new payment gateway, extending the booking experience to support modern payment methods including Apple Pay and Google Pay.

The objective was simple: make the digital booking journey as straightforward as the experience Hiddenwell is trying to create offline.

03

What Achieved

The result is a connected digital foundation for Hiddenwell, bringing brand, content, booking and hospitality systems together.

For the guest, that means a more coherent journey from discovering a Hiddenwell destination through to booking and payment.

For the group, the new structure provides:

One group-level content foundation
Shared content can be managed centrally while individual properties retain their own identity.

A bespoke booking experience
The booking journey has been developed around Hiddenwell rather than relying on a generic front-end experience.

Direct PMS integration
The bespoke IBE works with the Agilysys environment, connecting the guest-facing digital experience with the operational system behind it.

A more connected payment journey
New gateway integration and digital wallet support reduce friction at the point of booking.

A platform designed to grow
The underlying structure has been created with Hiddenwell's expanding portfolio in mind, rather than as a solution for a single property.

The Takeaway

And importantly, Data First's role has been one of collaboration.

We worked alongside the Hiddenwell team to translate the new brand and operational requirements into a functioning digital platform, while working with Agilysys as the PMS provider to connect the bespoke booking experience to the underlying hospitality technology.

The outcome isn't simply a new website. It is the digital infrastructure behind a new hospitality brand — connecting the experience guests see with the systems that make the experience possible.
